Quiet Strength (Barbary Lion)The Barbary lion (Panthera leo leo) has been extinct in the wild with the last known small groups last seen in Algeria and Morocco until the early and mid-1960s respectively.I needed little encouragement to photography this majestic lion. I had the privilege of spending over a year observing and interacting with this lion. It was a fantastic experience I will never forget. The Barbary Lion Project was organized to attempt to return these lions to the wild.
