The WatchersThe image is meant to encourage meditation on the state of human freedom in the 21st Century. In the foreground two egrets are resting on a stump located in a body of water. The background consists of a dark but colorful sky of muted yellows, blues, and magenta tints. Behind the birds are what at first appear to be posts but they represent human forms in a clearly distressful situation. Even though freedom is in great danger there is still hope suggested by the warm but muted tones in the sky.
