Autumn I
Autumn II
Autumn III
While taking photographs in rural South Carolina in late Autumn,I was shown a beautiful wooded area containing a stream with three small waterfalls. At each the owner had laid rocks to create a natural rock fall. The astounding beauty of the area could not be fully captured in a single photograph. The experience of sitting quietly and observing the stream, listening to the noise of the falls, and enjoying the crisp Autumn air inspired me to make an attempt do it justice. My final solution was a triptych consisting of a 36x24 central image showing the stream and the three falls and two 24x16 images, one detailing the larger falls and the second showing the distal falls and small pond which lay between the middle and larger falls. The photographs are entitled Images of Autumn I, II, II. Each will stand alone, however they are stunning when displayed as a triptych.
